Log into Birch Street and select the Office Depot Link on the Catalogs Tab.
Bulletin Board
The first page displayed is the Bulletin Board. This page contains 2 sections – a section specifically for Hilton, maintained by Office Depot, and a section that can be maintained by Hilton. The Hilton company logo can also be displayed on the Bulletin Board.
Both of the Bulletin Board sections may be removed for your entire account if required.
You can use any of the Search Tools from this page, or click the Continue button to proceed to the Home Page (Figure 3).
Text can be added to the bulletin board to announce new specials, or to suggest creating shopping lists, etc.

How to Order in 4 Easy Steps
Click Order By Item #, located on the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page. Use this function to quickly add items to your shopping cart. Simply key in the item number and the quantity, up to 20 items per page.
Once you have entered all items into your list, click the Add to Cart button. You will then see a listing of the items that were added to your cart. If you have more items to add, simply click the Order By Item # button again.
To review your shopping cart, click the View Cart button located on the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page. You will then be given the opportunity to review your Shopping Cart. If you make any quantity changes, click the Update Shopping Cart button. When you are ready to proceed with your purchase, click the Checkout icon, and then the Continue button.
To track an order; view the order detail; click Order Tracking on the left navigation bar if this is available to you.
Creating A Shopping Cart
Any of the following options can be used to add items to your Shopping Cart.
Browsing The Catalog: To find and select items by searching the online catalog, you may utilize the Home page to browse product categories, or use the Search Tools navigation bar on the left side of any page.
Order by Item#: To enter up to twenty item numbers and quantities at a time, select Order by Item # from the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page.
Shopping Lists: If this functionality is available to you, create a personalized shopping list or add items to your shopping cart from an existing list by selecting My Shopping Lists from the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page. This is a great place to store your frequently ordered items!
Find Printer Supplies: A quick-search function for locating business machine replacement items like toner or ink cartridges, saving time and reducing costly ordering errors.
Creating a Shopping Cart
A. Browsing the Catalog
From the Home page, select a category to browse. A page appears displaying a list of subcategories for the category selected. Select the subcategory you want to view. The next page displays either another list of subcategories or a list of items in the subcategory selected.
From this page, items can be added to the Shopping Cart by entering the quantity you want, then selecting the Add To Cart button. Note: If you leave the quantity box blank, then click on the Add to Cart icon, the item will be added to your Shopping Cart with a quantity of 1.
A Search can be performed with keywords, Office Depot Part Number, the manufacturer Part Number or the Manufacturer Name. Utilize the Search feature located under Search Tools on the left navigation bar.
Click on the Search by Brand under Search Tools on the left navigation bar to search by manufacturer.
B. Order by Item #
With Order by Item #, you can quickly enter up to twenty items directly to the Shopping Cart or a Shopping List by entering the item numbers and quantities. To display the Order by Item # page, select Order by Item # on the left navigation bar. To begin adding items to the Shopping Cart:
Type the item number in the Item # field. Item numbers include Office Depot item numbers, manufacturer numbers and customer-specific item number codes.
Type in the quantity desired in the Qty field. Note: If you leave any of the quantity boxes blank, the items will be added to your Shopping Cart with a quantity of 1.
When finished, select Add to Cart or Add To List located at the top and bottom of the page.
Creating Shopping Lists
To begin working with a Shopping List, select My Shopping Lists from the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page. The My Shopping Lists page appears.
Click on the “Create New List” button.
In the List Name field, type the name to be given to the Saved List. Example: “Freq. Ordered Items”, “Administration List”, etc. You may also enter an optional comment for the List.
To create the list, select the Create New List button. See Figure 8, below

The My Shopping List Contents page appears displaying information about the newly created list. From here you can add items to this list, allowing you to easily order these products in the future.
Adding Items To A Shopping List
There are 2 ways to add items to a shopping list.
a) On the Product Search Results page, click the Add To List button next to any of the product descriptions. You may enter a quantity for each item, or leave the box blank and the quantity will default to zero.
b) Using the Order by Item# page, enter any items you wish to add to a Shopping List and click the Add To List button at the top or bottom of the page. You may enter a quantity for each item, or leave the box blank and the quantity will default to zero.

After clicking Add To List, you will see the following screen (Figure 11). If you have not yet created any shopping lists, the system will prompt you to enter a list name and explanatory comments if you wish. If you have at least one previously created list, the system will allow you to select one of these, or optionally, you may create a new list.
After clicking “Next”, the following will be displayed:
If you are satisfied with the list contents, click on “Save Changes”.
To add items from a Custom Shopping List to your shopping cart, change the quantities (if needed) and check the box next to the items you wish to order. Click “Add To Cart”. The system adds the check-marked items with a quantity greater than zero to your Shopping Cart.
Modifying A Shopping List
You can add, modify or delete the items on a Personal Shopping List, delete a list entirely, or add items to the Shopping Cart. From the left navigation bar, select My Shopping Lists. Select the name of the Shopping List you want to modify or delete.
Quantities can be saved, items removed, category descriptions modified and groups identified. When changing quantities or category descriptions, click the Save Changes button at the top and bottom of the page to save these changes for future ordering.
Clicking Delete List will remove the list. Note: Please be careful, as lists cannot be recovered after they have been deleted!
Find Printer Supplies
The “Find Printer Supplies” option on the “Search Tools” navigation bar on the left side of the page enables a user to search for business machine replacement products/supplies such as inkjet and toner cartridges, fax drums, etc.
Select the manufacturer from the drop down list and click the red arrow.
Select the model # of your machine on the next page by clicking the appropriate link.
The next page will provide a listing of the appropriate replacement parts for the specified machine.
Note: The top 5 printer manufacturers are listed at the top of the manufacturer drop down list for your convenience (as shown below, Figure 13).
Insufficient Quantities
Ordering online from Office Depot’s website gives you access to live inventory. If Office Depot does not have the quantity of the item you request available, an Insufficient Quantity page will appear. See Figure 14, below:
“I would like to order nn and backorder nn.” – Orders the quantity available and places a backorder for the remaining quantity.
“I would like to order nn” – Orders only the quantity available.
“I will select a different item.” – Allows you to select an alternate item for this order.
If no message appears and the item(s) are added to your cart, your items are in stock.
Submitting a Shopping Cart to your e-Procurement System
Once you have completed shopping, select the View Cart button found on the Shopping Tools navigation bar on the left side of the page. Review the items in your Shopping Cart; if you make any changes, click Update Shopping Cart. Once you click Checkout, the shopping cart is sent back to your e-Procurement system. See Figure 15, below.
After clicking Checkout, the system displays a page containing a Continue button. Click Continue to return to your e-Procurement site properly.
The buyer is returned back to Birch Street PO tab and the newly created Purchase Order.
Important – Once the PO has been created in Birch Street, you must click on the Header Update button.
On the Header Update screen you will be able to change the Payment Method. Select Credit Card in the Payment Method drop down. Once you change your payment method you will notice that the Credit Card option becomes available.
In the Credit Card field select the desired credit card from the drop down. Click Save.
Once you have updated the PO Header with the credit card information, you must “submit” the order back to Office Depot for it to be processed by Office Depot. The PO status will change from “New” to “Submitted”.
Once Office Depot has successfully received the submitted order from Birch Street, the PO status will change from “Submitted” to “Accepted by Supplier”.
